Day 5: Meeting with composer Steve Lewis

Does Diagenesis ever get a free day when we're together? Not really, but today was the closest it gets for us - no concerts, no recording, just practice... and a fun little meeting...

We had the great opportunity to meet with UCSD composition PhD student Steve Lewis.  After playing one of his pieces early this year, Jen called me and told me we had to try to get him to write something for us. So that's exactly what we started working towards.

Steve came to our concert yesterday then joined us for lunch at the Loft with some great ideas about what he would compose already in mind. How exciting! He is going to work on a piece for us for the 2012-2013 season and we'll be sure to keep you in the loop on its progress. How great is it to get more great rep for voice and cello!?
